Valentine's day is just around the corner, so I put together four outfits inspired by love songs written by Queen. Each outfit is unique, so you will find one to suit your Valentine's Day mood.

Good Old Fashioned Lover Gal

("Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy")

This look is inspired by the song, "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" written by Freddie Mercury. It was released on the album A Day at the Races in 1976. Like any love song that is written by Freddie, he plays the piano beautifully!!! To accompany this song, I went with a bold, classic look. I wanted to match the lyrics and make an outfit as timeless as romantic old fashioned love and as stylish as Freddie himself. I paired a simple patterned blouse with a neck tie from Zara and a black denim skirt from Forever 21 together. With the addition of a nautical hat from Zara and black boots from Target, the outfit looked great. And to honor the lyric, "Be your Valentino just for you," I added a simple teal Valentino bag to complete the entire look.

I'm in Love with Myself

("I'm in Love with My Car")

Surprisingly, Queen had added the quirky song, "I'm in Love with My Car," to their Valentine's Day playlist and original album. This was written by the heartthrob drummer, Roger Taylor. It was released on the 1975 album, Night at the Opera, on the B-side of "Bohemian Rhapsody." If you don't care too much about real love, then this look is for you. The song is "supposed" to be all metaphor and even gets joked about in the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody. I put an outfit together that's not to be taken too seriously, fun, and carefree as Roger Taylor himself (and maybe a bit childish, too). I mix-matched different shades of pink to still stay in the theme. The pink sweater and fur coat are from Zara and the pizza pajama bottoms are from Forever 21.

In Your Hearts

("Let Me in your Heart Again")

Our next song, "Let Me in your Heart Again," is written by lead guitarist, Brian May. It was released on the Queen Forever album in 2014 and was recorded from 1983-2014 (yeah, that's a long period of time). Brian May loves photography, so I got this shirt from Zara that has photographs of hearts on them. To stay with the heart theme I wore white Comme des Garcons PLAY x Converse low-tops that have the iconic heart logo on them. The jeans are from Topshop paired with a pearly GG Gucci belt. To make it even more "Bri" inspired, I added a nice striped Kenneth Cole men's button down from my dad's closet and an FujiFlim camera as an accessory.

You and I. Dinner.

("You and I")

John Deacon is the Queen bassist and can probably be considered to be the most underrated member of the band. He didn't write many songs, but the songs he wrote were always amazing. His songs include "I Want to Break Free," "Another One Bites the Dust," and of course, "You and I.""You and I" was released on the A Day at the Races album. This song is 100% underrated, and it wasn't even performed live once! I personally refer to Deacon as the most sentimental member of the group. He retired from music shortly after Freddie's death and has been married to his wife since 1975 (awwwww). I wanted to wear something full of sentimentality, and I find the best things in life to be simple, so I just wore this chic rose print dress from Gap and kept it classy with some Chanel pearls and heals from ASOS.

That's the conclusion of today's post. I had so much fun making these outfits inspired by Queen! I recommend listening to the whole Valentine's Day playlist that Queen put together that's available on Spotify, Youtube, etc. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day, whether it's with your significant other or just your dog. Everyone deserves somebody to love, a good outfit, and a Queen song to describe their love life.
